The Outer Hebrides

WELCOME

The Isle of Scalpay, is a tiny island in the Outer Hebrides connected to the Isle of Harris by bridge. It is  2.5 miles in length, yet home to an abundance of wildlife, peppered with small lochans and home to the historic Eilean Glas Lighthouse. Scalpay boasts spectacular land and seascape views, incredible seafood and renowned Hebridean hospitality. Welcome to this island gem just waiting to be discovered.

Situated in this peaceful fishing village, you will find Dirascal Cottage nestled within a vibrant cottage garden. The 100 year old stone croft house was left derelict for decades before being lovingly restored by its current owners Richard and Karen. The extensive renovation included the addition of a private self-contained annex attached to the main cottage.

Completed in 2021 the annex has been sympathetically designed to reflect the quaintness and character of the original house. It is a restful combination of bespoke cottage charm and modern comfort. Dirascal annex, designed with couples in mind, is a cosy retreat with picturesque garden and stunning sea views. Within easy access of the beautiful Harris beaches and ideally located to explore all the delights that Scalpay, Harris and Lewis have to offer.  A unique place to stay as you create new memories in the amazing Outer Hebrides.
